Hanson Robotics and Intelligent Bots introduces the Hanson Robokind R30 Humanoid (Zeno Face). Hanson RoboKind has transformed the
features and technology of the renowned $100,000+ Hanson robots into
small robots with lower prices, and perfect for your research. This
robot combines a fully expressive face, movable arms and hand on a stable pair of legs, up
to 20 degrees of freedom, and easy-to-use open software.
ROBOKIND™ robots have two high-definition cameras, an
internal computer, and multiple sensors. They are the most expressive
robots found in today's market, enabling you to do the boldest research
in your field. There are 2 different heads (Zeno and Alice), with motors
that are easy to change. Along with the robot is an easy-to-use open
source coding engine, and a robot animation system in order to
facilitate the development of advanced functions. We offer a range of
faces and body combinations.
Putting A Face On Computer Science And Robotics Research
RoboKind robots are your gateway to the next generation of research. There are two styles Alice and Zena with motors that are as easy to change as a light bulb. The manufacturer has also created easy to use open source coding engine, and their own robot animation system in order to facilitate the development of advanced functions.
Models
The current product line includes the R50 and the R30 robots. Each product series will also offer multiple options.
RoboKind Robots include powerful intelligence and computing, with
abilities to recognize faces, track motion, understand speech, and
interact with people conversationally. The R50 can walk around, lie
down and get back up, grasp objects with his hands, dance and gesture
with his body. Additionally, the R50 is the first product with real
facial expressions, including the ability to smile, frown, blink, look
angry or surprised, and move its mouth in time with speech. The R30
contains the same features as the R50 except has a gestural, non-walking
body.These abilities are controlled by our software running on the
imbedded com
puter.
R-30: Expressive face with gestural body
- This is an expressive face on a gestural, non-walking body. It contains expressive arms mounted on a pair of static legs.
- This model contains the same robotic head as the R50 and both faces are available on this model.
R-50:
Expressive face with full motion body
- This is the walking body with the highly expressive
face. Our body is fast and strong, using Dynamixel RX-64 and RX-28
servos and an expansive sensor array.
- This robot has a fully functional expressive robotic
head. The face is fully capable of thousands of expressions and speech.
Together, the face and neck contain 10 motors that manipulate the
patented Frubber™ skin.
Heads
Zeno: He is a young boy, fully facially expressive, with a cute, cartoonish look. As with all Hanson Robotics models, he is highly detailed, and features a powerful sensor suite, as well as excellent cameras.
Alice: She is a stylized young woman, and fully facially expressive. She features all the power of Hanson Robotics faces, as well as the full sensor suite.
Bodies
Bodies are built using Dynamixel Servos. The R50 uses RX-64
servos in the legs, allowing quick movement and consistent performance.
The R50 and the R30 use RX-28 and RX-64 servos in the arms for gestural
movement, allowing for strong actions, as well as fine precision. Our
bodies also contain a large sensor array, including an IMU with a 9 axis
gyro/accelerometer/compass, temperature, torque, and touch sensors, and
many other sensor options.It is all controlled by our on board computer. It is fully featured, and directly controllable.
Product Software
The software provided with RoboKind
is fully open source and is Java based, but is able to communicate with
programs written in other languages such as C++ and C sharp.
