It comes fully assembled and tested with ATMega328 pre-loaded with bootloader. Arduino Duemilanove is an open-source physical computing platform based on a simple i/o board and a development environment that implements the Processing/Wiring language. Arduino can be used to develop stand-alone interactive objects or can be connected to software on your computer (e.g. Flash, Processing, MaxMSP). The open-source IDE can be downloaded for free (currently for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux). Requires a USB cable and 9-12VDC power supply. The Arduino Duemilanove board is an incredibly low-cost, easy to use microcontroller board for use with almost any electronic or robotic project. The Arduino Duemilanove is essentially a robot "brain" able to send and receive signals and then take action based on calculations and logic.
