The Basic Micro BasicATOM Pro One-M Microcontroller Module is a low cost self contained microcontroller. It has the same great features as its big brothers but with 8 I/O and one hardware serial port. The Basic ATOM Pro is Basic Stamp 1 (BS1) pin compatible. The new Basic ATOM Pro One is ideal for the classroom or that small project where a low cost microcontroller solution is required. The educational use can benefit from its low cost and powerful command set. It can be programmed from a simple serial cable and 9v battery. It is based on a powerful 32 bit processor. It has 32K of flash memory for your programs, 2K of RAM which is enough space for 2000 byte sized variables and is programmable in BASIC, C or ASM. Assembly can be mixed with your BASIC or C programs. The BasicATOM Pro One-M can be programmed from a simple RS232 serial programming interface. Only 4 connections to a RS232 DB9 cable are required. The FTDI FT232 USB to serial microcontroller is recommended for your own custom designs requiring an USB interface. The schematic is setup for bus power. The FTDI is powered when plugged into a USB port. You will need to power the module seperately through a normal power regulator.
