We also offer similar poducts in the same category: the pro version (Dr. Robot X80SVP WiFi Mobile Development Platform (Pro Version)) which can carry an additional load of 15 kg; the Dr. Robot X80Y WiFi Mobile Development Platform – Orange (w / PTZ CCD Camera) with a supported additional load of 10 kg; and the Dr. Robot X80PRO WiFi Mobile Development Platform (Pro Version) with a load of 15 kg (X80 evolved) and anti-collision detection.

Jaguar mobile platform

Mobile platform

We’ve just received in store the Jaguar mobile robotic development platform.

This beast is a real all-terrain vehicle that can go anywhere, including up and down steps with a 45 degree angle.

The platform contains the chassis and motors only.

It has two tracked arms which facilitate it to move and can turn on themselves (360 degrees) and be controlled independently of other tracks.

The Jaguar is quite light and can transport loads which are relatively heavy compared to its small size: it can carry 15 kg and pull up to 50 kg.

What’s more, it has no problem working in extreme temperatures from -30 to +50 degrees Celsius.

Buy it on RobotShop.

New Arduino Wi-Fi by AsyncLabs

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

We have just received two new flagship products in our online robotics store.

They are the Arduino WiFi BlackWidow by AsyncLabs (large version, which is compatible with Arduino shielding standards)

Arduino Wifi BlackWidow Asynclabs

and the Mini Arduino WiFi YellowJacket by AsyncLabs (miniature version for small robots).

Mini Arduino Wifi Yellowjacket

These two new releases from our manufacturer, Asynclabs, are Open-Source, just like Arduino.

They have Wi-Fi so can connect and control robot prototypes via a computer (like Rovio or Spykee).

Dagu robotic gripper

DSO Nano : The Pocket Oscilloscope by SeeedStudio

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

DSO Nano Oscilloscope

RobotShop has received a new project, Nano SeeedStudio DSO poket Oscillator.

It is something like an iPod for robotic enthusiasts, this type of product previously cost 10 to 15 times more and was bulkier. This one only weighs 60 grams.

The Seeedstudio measures the frequency, cycle, Vpp, Vram, Vavg and the DC voltage.

It has a 2.8 inch, 320×240, colour LCD screen.

It can receive a SD card, has a USB drive and rechargeable batteries.

For more information, see the PDF instruction manual.

Walking Hexapod Lego

Monday, February 8th, 2010

The Hexapod walking robot below is a Lego NXT with 6 legs.

The legs are controlled by motors on the right and on the left. The motor on the back controls the middle legs and assists in tilting it to the left or to the right.

Operation example: the left-center drops, the left-side legs go up and the right-center goes up.

The robot uses 3 NXT servo motors, a light sensor and an ultrasonic sensor to move.
