Inflatable Ride-In Dalek

Inflatable Ride-In Dalek

The robopocalypse is near. Now you can get your very own Ride-in Dalek from Dr. Who at RobotShop and EXTERMINATE ALL HUMANS (read in Dalek voice).

The 1.3m tall Ride-in Daleks are made by Kids@Play and  can fit a small human of at most 30 kg. So if you are a grown-up Dr. Who fan (and we know there are many of those around) you are out of luck and your human exterminations plans will need to wait a tad bit longer, unless you have a smaller human in your life ready to inflict some doom aboard these inflatable SUPERIOR BEINGS.

These Daleks can utter many different quotes form the original series in order to inspire fear (and laughs) and make humans OBEY.

STOP! Get a Dalek today and prepare to EXTERMINATE,  ANNIHILATE, DESTROY!

Friday, November 19th, 2010

At RobotShop, we have a weird tendency to disassemble our robots (especially lately).

This time, we bring you the total dismantling of the cute and innocent Nabaztag. This little rabbit is a very interesting piece of equipment since it has a powerful ARM processor, RFID reader and WiFi capabilities among other things.

See the video below in order to get intimate knowledge of the rabbit’s guts.

TRAKR Gets Reviewed Inside and Out

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

The new TRAKR from Wild Planet is a very interesting mobile spy toy on its own, but it also has lots of hacking potential. Wild Planet is even embracing this hacking movement  by providing documentation about all the platform features. Soon enough, this toy will be converted in a very inexpensive programmable robotic platform for all roboticists to enjoy.

The kind people at Hack a Day have made a very thorough review of the platform and even went to the extreme of dissembling the robot completely. Their findings are rather interesting and definitely a good read for anyone wanting to purchase the TRAKR or simply looking for an inexpensive telepresence robot.

They even contemplated the possibility of expanding the TRAKR‘s main control board by adding an Arduino in order to provide further inputs and outputs. We are eager to see how the TRAKR now that they are in the wild.
