Improved Warranty Extended to All Robot Vacuum Cleaners

Friday, May 6th, 2011
Years ago, RobotShop started offering our Limited Lifetime Warranty on the Roomba, and as of late 2010, on the Neato XV-11 also. Considering the run-time and amount of work the average robotic vacuum cleaner goes through, it made buying with RobotShop a smart decision. Now RobotShop is extending the Limited Lifetime Warranty to all domestic robotic vacuum cleaners, and to a few other domestic robots as well.
Robot Vacuum Warranty

RobotShop Customers are VIP? Nice!

What does this mean for you? New domestic robot vacuums purchased with RobotShop will now come with the same Limited Lifetime Warranty that RobotShop Roomba and Neato XV-11 owners previously (and currently) enjoy, and the VIP service that goes along with it. On top of that, being a RobotShop customer gives you access to the Robot Hospital, so your robot(s) can still be repaired even after the warranty has expired. Overall it makes owning a domestic robot that much easier, and in the end, that’s how domestic robots should make things: easier.

RobotShop is also extending the Limited Lifetime Warranty to a few other robot pet care products, like the popular Litter Robot, and our range of automatic pet feeders and waterers.

Check out our Warranty section for more details.

Ham De-boning Robot is Precise, Fast and Pitiless

Monday, December 6th, 2010

Robot arms skilled at wielding knives and carving meat, can be a bit scary, specially for us fleshy humans.

Nevertheless, the HAMDAS-R by Mayekawa Manufacturing is a very impressive machine. It is capable of de-boning ham using a razor sharp knife by adapting to the shape and size variations of the meat pieces. Having such a great adaptability for a robot is remarkable since usually they perform very structured tasks that do not tolerate too much variation.

Underwater robots help contain the leak of oil in the Gulf of Mexico

BP Oil spill

image foxnews

Some underwater robots have helped to lay the huge concrete and steel cover on the leak of oil in the Gulf of Mexico.

The cover measures 12 meters in height and was placed 1500 meters deep, guided by robots.

It’s hoped that the oil spill, failing disappearing, will stop spreading. This is because, since the day of the accidence off the coast of Louisiana, 11 million liters of oil has poured into the sea.

But, the laying of this first cover has not entirely worked due to the formation of ice crystals. A second smaller one should be put in place this week.

At a discharge rate of 800 000 liters of oil per day, the American authorities and the BP oil company need to work fast.

And the role of underwater robots in this type of last chance operation is crucial.

Robotic cat litter-box: Meow

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

We sell robotic litter boxes for cats at RobotShop.

And for those who are skeptical or unaware, yes, they do exist :-)

The Litter Robot 2 for example, is one of the best models available on the market.

This type of model is known as a self-cleaning litter box.

The principle is simple: your cat enters it to take care of its needs. After it comes out, the litter robot waits seven minutes and then starts spinning and filtering the waste placing it into the tray below. Then, it returns to its normal position with a clean litter box ready to welcome back your cat.

To empty the litter drawer, simply pull out the tray. It’s as simple as using a trash bag.

This model works with several types of litter including clumping litter.

Pamper your cat … and yourself with luxury :-)
