MyDeskFriend : the penguin robot for Facebook

MyDeskFriend

The Swiss company, Arimaz, has created a small robot in the shape of a penguin that connects to Facebook.

MyDeskFriend can read your e-mails and messages from your contacts on Facebook, the news via RSS feeds, check weather, follow the course of your favorite stock, and even interact with other users.

The small penguin robot uses a Facebook application especially developed for it. It also helps administer its vocal commands.

MyDeskFriend can walk along your desk thanks to its small wheels. It feels the void and does not fall.

Multi-coloured lights reflect his emotions and he loves to be tickled behind his head.

Here is the competition by the Nabaztag bunny.

According to Pierre Bureau, the creator, Mydeskfriend will soon have applications for MSN or Twitter, and a development kit can be downloaded.

The Swiss newspaper, Le Temps wrote that Arimaz has already sold several hundred models in only a few months.

MyDeskFriend will soon be on sale at RobotShop.
