LG Hom-Bot Cleans Your Floor, Feeds Your Dog

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

CES 2011 is full of cool products including some very interesting robots. the  Hom-Bot, by LG is not only capable of cleaning the floor like any other robot vacuum, but it can also control other appliances using the ThinQ technology (which we suppose is an IR remote).

The robot is also equipped with two cameras (one pointing to the ceiling and another pointing at the floor) that allow for advanced navigation and mapping features. Finally, it can be triggered by a smart-phone or other web-enabled devices in order to start cleaning, navigate to a specific spot, or operate other appliances.

The video below shows the robot in action and demonstrates the ThinQ technology.

Form more info about the Hom-bot, you can view the video below (it’s in French, but should be pretty self-explanatory and is full of pretty pictures).

The Homebot is not yet available for retail but should become available soon. You might even see it alongside Robotshop’s other robotic vacuums in the future.
