Neato Goes to Europe: Meet The New XV-15

We had countless requests for the Neato XV-11 smart robotic vacuum cleaner from customers in Europe, but we could not sell it there since the robot was simply not certified for that market. Today, we are happy to announce that there is a new Neato robotic vacuum specifically for our European friends; the XV-15!

So what is new in the XV-15?

The Neato XV-15 does not have many major upgrades or surprises. It comes with an European (UK and EU) wall plug (and of course the charging base), a few extra air filters, and sports a sexy blue charcoal coloured body instead of its “army green” American counterpart. It has the same advanced path planning and systematic cleaning capabilities that made the original XV-11 so popular.

Improved Warranty Extended to All Robot Vacuum Cleaners

Years ago, RobotShop started offering our Limited Lifetime Warranty on the Roomba, and as of late 2010, on the Neato XV-11 also. Considering the run-time and amount of work the average robotic vacuum cleaner goes through, it made buying with RobotShop a smart decision. Now RobotShop is extending the Limited Lifetime Warranty to all domestic robotic vacuum cleaners, and to a few other domestic robots as well.

RobotShop Customers are VIP? Nice!

What does this mean for you? New domestic robot vacuums purchased with RobotShop will now come with the same Limited Lifetime Warranty that RobotShop Roomba and Neato XV-11 owners previously (and currently) enjoy, and the VIP service that goes along with it. On top of that, being a RobotShop customer gives you access to the Robot Hospital, so your robot(s) can still be repaired even after the warranty has expired. Overall it makes owning a domestic robot that much easier, and in the end, that’s how domestic robots should make things: easier.

Neato XV-11 Hacked!

About a week after the Open LiDAR project was announced, the Neato XV-11 has been hacked and now its juicy LiDAR data can be used by everybody. This effectively makes the Neato XV-11 not only one of the most advanced vacuum cleaner robots in the market, but also, the cheapest LiDAR available.

We have to thank Hash79 who, based on the code by Xevel and chenglung was able to get readouts from the Neato XV-11 laser. The cash bounty will be given to Hash79 (congrats Hash!) and chenglung’s Neato XV-11 will be refunded by RobotShop.

The Neato XV-11 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Gets Unboxed

We are lucky enough to have received one of the early Neato XV-11 engineering samples. We took this chance to take a few pictures and shoot an unboxing video in order to share with everyone this awesome experience. The only difference between this sample unit and the regular XV-11 is the former sports a nice army green colour while the latter features a more elegant silver colour.

It is important to note that the first few XV-11s went out a few days ago and that we will get new stock coming in shortly (and probably going out equally as fast).
