Sergey Brin telepresence

Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google took center stage at the Google Lunar X-Prize conference … while being physically absent.

But how, you ask us?

He used a Texai telepresence robot by Willow Garage.

This type of robot is quite simply the future of teleconferencing.

It’s very practically when the person can’t travel and is efficient because the robot acts like a real human presence by displaying the face on the screen (the head).

MeBot

MeBot is a new telepresence mobile robot created by the MIT in Boston.

It has a small screen to display the face of the person in teleconference, and two little arms.

Additionally, its neck can move to express emotions (3 degrees of freedom).

MeBot’s base is also mobile.

A fabulous invention that allows you to use your “mini-me” for teleconferencing.

Superdroid telepresence robot

Telepresence robots will be working in your place.

By watching the video below, you can celebrate the breakthrough of this type of technology whose applications will be numerous.

A robotic “tower” that is equipped with a camera retransmitting your face and your voice allows you to attend meetings without being there.

Even better, the telepresence robot moves around and could potentially replace the presence of an employee in the office.

This type of device is already in medicine and in surgery.

The future market for telepresence guides is very promising.

At RobotShop, we already have a model, the SuperDroid RP2W Two-Way Remote Presence Robot.

A demonstration of the “Texas Robot” is shown below:
