Introducing the DFRobot Wheel Encoders for DFRobot 3PA and 4WD Rovers (2pk). The encoder uses non-contact method to convert the angular displacement to a signal. The trip photoelectric sensors use sampling to identify transitions from the opaque to translucent zone and represents this with a logical "1" or "0". Through "1" and "0" pulses, you can calculate travel distance and speed (need to control timing). Outer diameters ~16mm, inner diameters ~2mm.
