The OceanServer OS5000-T Solid State Tilt Compensated 3 Axis Digital Compass Module is an extremely small form factor (1” x 1”) three axis, tilt compensated digital compass with a 24 bit A/D to support a high resolution depth or altitude sensor (for example MSI MSP-340 not included). The compass is connected via a USB or RS232 Serial connection. The OS5000-T provides precise heading, roll and pitch data ideal for rapid attitude measurement. The OS5000-T offers an easy to use ASCII interface which includes hard-iron calibration and simple data configuration for your application.
Compass models come with Microsoft Windows compatible software for evaluation and testing. Compasses can also be connected to a host system using Microsoft HyperTerminal. When power is applied, they output sensor data at the preset rate. You can change the rate or set output to 0, to stop output completely. The compass firmware provides basic functions for calibration and configuration.
