This is the SeeedStudio USB Charger and Power Booster LiPo Rider. It is a power module with Lipo battery charge management and boost circuit designed for MCU projects with standard USB output interface. Lipo Rider can provide reliable solution to charge LiPo battery from Solar or USB power and output boosted 5Vdc power by standard USB port. While mini USB power connected it will charge Lipo battery and disable the boost circuit, mini USB power direct output to standard USB port. While Solar JST power connected, it will charge Lipo battery and boost Lipo battery power to standard USB port.
Note: The JST connector is NOT compatible with LiPo batteries from Sparkfun (RB-Spa-XX)
Below is a hardware setup example for Lipo Rider. When put the installation under illumination, the solar panel collect luminous energy and charge Lipo battery, Lipo Rider boost Lipo battery power to 5v for Seeeduino. The switch is on and the gleamy LEDs marked by red circle shows the Lipo Rider is working.
