The Dagu 4WD Thumper Mobile Platform (Aluminum, 75:1) is a smaller version of the Wild Thumper 6WD chassis, designed to excel at traversing rough terrain. It is really an excellent platform for any robot that needs to produce a better output in rough conditions. Four DC motors included with brass brushes and 75:1 steel gearboxes drive large (120mm diameter) spiked tires. To meet the dissimilar loads and conditions, suspension can be adjusted. The chassis is manufactured from a 2mm-thick corrosion resistant anodized aluminum plate. When powered at 7.2V, the chassis can reach a top speed of approximately 3 km/h. Each motor has a stall torque of roughly 11 kg-cm (150 oz-in).
The aluminum plate of chassis features 4mm holes spaced every 10mm, supplying plenty of options when it comes to mounting the control sensors, electronics and extra hardware. A compartment in the chassis is designed to hold 7.2V sub-C battery packs (not included). Two such battery packs can fit in the compartment. The convenient screw terminals are another great feature of the chassis that connects your battery and motor driver leads.
