  • DFRobot 4.8-46V, 2A Dual Motor Controller
    A good inexpensive controller
    Review by Bill
Its relatively easy to drive. Each motor channel has a 5/0V direction pin and a PWM pin for speed. Most other controllers have an additional direction pin that has to be driven at odds to its partner. Also I was able to use the same power supply for motors and logic, which is unusual and convenient. I am noticing that the motors don't turn as fast as an alternative controller that I have however - maybe 60%. So there is something odd going on there.

  • DFRobot Mega IO Expansion Shield for Arduino MEGA
Well made board with lots of extras
    Review by David
I'm using this shield on a Funduino Mega for a home-sensor project. The three XBee slots allow me to connect two different XBee networks (one with 2.4GHz radios and one with longer-range 900MHz radios), process the incoming data and then output it on BlueTooth using the third slot. The shield is well-built - all soldering looks solid.

  • DFRobot Romeo All-in-one Microcontroller (ATMega 328)
    Awesome
    Review by Scott
This is a great board made by DFrobot. It is really nice that it is open source, so whatever your preference is it should work, not sure though I haven't tried other code so I can't vouch for that. Because this board is so similar to the Arduino Uno I use their program to write my code. The only drawback to this board is that it is not as popular as its counterpart so information and help are a bit limited. But any resourceful and patient individual should have no problem. I am amazed at how much is crammed onto this board which makes it very versatile. This board in my opinion really earns the title of all-in-one because of everything it has. I plan on purchasing more boards in the future because of it's versatility and recommend it to anyone else looking for a good all-in-one board.

Robot Construction Kits

Posted on April 23, 2014

By Coleman Benson & filled under Robotics Projects & Kits, Where to Start.

Robot Construction Kits can be distinguished from normal robot kits since they use modular parts and allow you to assemble different robots using the same parts. A robot kit on the other hand only allows you to build one robot. Robot construction kits are a great investment because they tend to include everything you need [...]

It has been a few years since RobotShop released the original DFRobotShop Rover, and we continue to be amazed and delighted with what people are using them to do. Recently German researchers used the DFRobotShop Rover as well as additional parts (light sensor, camera, software) to mimic the simple nervous system of an insect (using [...]

Towards the bottom of the image you will see a blue box with a screw at the top; this is actually a potentiometer which allows you to vary the voltage.
