• The walking Robot is provided with
• Six servo biped walking robot featuring three degrees of freedom (DOF) per leg
BRAT stands for Bipedal Robotic Articulating Transport. The Lynxmotion Biped BRAT Robot can walk forward or backwards and turn in place left or right with variable speed. It can even do lots of Robo-One style acrobatic moves. This kit includes everything you need to build and control the robot from a personal computer.
The robot is made from brushed anodized aluminum servo brackets from the Lynxmotion Servo Erector Set. It includes an electronics carrier made from ultra-tough laser-cut Lexan. Due to the robot's light weight, these servos work well. As with any walking robots, weight is a major concern. The best approach is to keep the weight to an absolute minimum. We recommend using the 6.0 Volt Ni-MH 1600mAh Battery Pack (RB-Lyn-88) and the Universal Smart Charger (RB-Lyn-203).
The Lynxmotion Biped BRAT Robot can be controlled in many ways. The combo kit for PC uses the and the to control the robot's motion. It's a tethered configuration but can be made wireless with any commercial wireless serial device (ex. Bluetooth).
SSC-32 Servo Sequencer Utility (created using FlowBotics Studio)
The Lynxmotion SSC-32 Servo Controller board can be easily controlled with the new SSC-32 Servo Sequencer Utility. It is available as a free downloadable utility which makes it easy to experiment with robotics and animatronics. It can be found in the Useful Links section.
This utility is an example of the type of program which can be built using, which includes this program as an open source demo project. The SSC-32 Servo Sequencer Utility program enables you to easily move servo motors, calibrate their position, store and playback motion sequences, upgrade the SSC-32 firmware and more.
