Yes, I am having the same problem. Suggested fix is new batteries so I am going to try that, but does anyone have any idea as to why that would affect it? I measured the voltage to the motors and they only get up to 2.5v while in full operation, and the circuits all have between 3.5v and 4.5v. I am ...

We would like to create a prototype for a robotic arm that we can then 'hack' and use to teach basic programming. We started with the OWI EDGE http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/peopleengineproject/the-robauto-robot-hacking-kit?ref=home_location which works fine but can't lift much weight. ...

The OWI-535's gripper opening is 1.77" wide. Note that the arm does not have position control and can lift a maximum of 100g.

The OWI-535 is a great and very popular robotic arm kit, and the Beetle Robot Kit is sort of a mobile version. You might consider the 31-in1 screwdriver set as well as the ST-10 electronic hand tool kit . Most of the inexpensive ...

Hello Neberos,

I contacted the manufacturer but their fix did not work.

As you suggested, I replaced the batteries with new ones and it worked.
Thanks a lot for sharing your ideas!
Now my son can use his robot.

Hi jadams, Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. We would suggest the USB interface for the OWI-535 / 007 Robot arms . The hardware is older and will likely not be updated since the Owi Arm Trainer was discontinued. It is compatible with XP, but likely not Vist / 7. If your ...

Hi

I have solved my problem. It turns out that I was using cheap batteries. I replaced them with new rechargeable batteries and the robot arm works great. For anyone else with this problem I would suggest getting good batteries, not cheap ones as I did.
