  • Dynamixel Sensor Module AX-S1
Excellent product if you need to expand your robots senses
    Review by Ronald
Ordered this product to give my robot more sensory capability after exhausting all 6 ports on my cm530. The fact that it chains to the servos yet is able to give my robot 3 more IR sensors is awesome
    Thumbs up

  • Dynamixel AX-12A Smart Serial Servo
    Good Torque at this price
    Review by skg
Better torque and design at this price than other hobby servos. Easy control, scalability with daisy chaining these motors.

  • Dynamixel AX-18A Smart Serial Servo (6pk)
    Fantastic servos
    Review by Aaron
When you've reached the limits of the AX-12 and/or you need to make your project move faster (way faster), this is the perfect upgrade as it is a drop in replacement.
You also cannot beat the bulk pack for it's value.

By Coleman Benson & filled under Robotics Projects & Kits, Where to Start.

Robot Construction Kits can be distinguished from normal robot kits since they use modular parts and allow you to assemble different robots using the same parts. A robot kit on the other hand only allows you to build one robot. Robot construction kits are a great investment because they tend to include everything you need [...]

How BIG Can I Make My Robot?

Posted on February 27, 2012

By Coleman Benson & filled under Industry.

You’re thinking about building your first robot and have grandiose thoughts of making something like an exoskeleton or a giant robotic “pet” to strike fear into your enemies. As much as we dream about these robots and see them in movies, there are not many around for a reason. For your first build, you need [...]

As innerbreed indicated, there really is no way to get feedback from a normal R/C servo. There are three wires:
voltage and ground and signal. The signal wire is input only (no values are sent from the servo). You would need a smart servo: http://www.robotshop.com/en/smart-servo-motors.html
