    Exclamation Help with Radioshack IR infrared emitter detector distance sensors

    Got a pair of this, hooked on A0 but not getting what it should...

    We suggest you have a look at this guide in order to start using your diodes.

    The main thing you need to keep in mind is that if you are willing to detect digital signals (such as an IR remote code) you wil need to use digital pins: http://www.ladyada.net/learn/sensors/ir.html

    I read this one before. It's not the same sensor I got, and it's a different application.
    I just wanna use this emitter/detector to detect the desk border to avoid falling off .

    In that case, you cannot connect the receiver directly to the Arduino pins, you will need to create a circuit that will output an analogue voltage proportional to the amount of current passing trough the diode.

    The resulting circuit will be very similar to this product: RB-Pol-49
