Default Robotic Arm and FPGA Spartan-3A Control

I'm looking to make a project, where I control a robotic arm (such as Dagu 6 Degrees of Freedom Robotic Arm), with a mouse- or joystick via a spartan-3A FPGA starter board.

I'm interested in any ideas and/or suggestions, for the choice of robotic arm and additional hardware?

We would suggest the AL5A robotic arm, no electronics (so you can use your own controller). If you choose the complete kit, you get the SSC-32 servo controller which can connect via the serial lines to the Spartan board (this may be the better approach and aside from a few small cables, you would have everything you need).

Thank you for your reply, the AL5A looks like it has some possibilities.
