The FTDI 245BL USB to Parallel Chip (Lead Free) is FT245BM USB to Parallel FIFO interface chip that converts USB to an 8 bit bidirectional parallel FIFO interface. It is used as an easy way to connect a microcontroller to USB. The 245BM is state machine based and no firmware is required. The data transfer rates capability is up to 1 MByte / second.
