Works well, but could be better

I used this motor controller for controlling a Voice Coil. Good: Meets specs Has Decent UI (for setting up the parameters) Lots of features (like uart communication and analog inputs) Cons: The controls (like PID) behave a little weird. For example, the velocity gains seem to be based on maximum current. So if you change max current, you have to re-scale your gains. The Position control is affected by the velocity control gains for some reason. I also cannot get it communicating at 460800 baudrate, but that might be a cable issue.

A company who stands behind their products

I ordered this here at robotshop.com. I was going to use it to drive my rc mower https://youtu.be/kFqouZvOQAE I went to their forum to get some advice. After a long conversation. I was convince to swap it out for a mcp 260. This is where I was shocked. Basicmicro allowed me to send it to them and exchange it and pay the difference. I didn't know companies did that anymore. I received the mcp 260 and wow. My RC mower was born. Today the mcp 260 stopped working. I called and they said send it to us and we will repair it free of charge. Today I ordered a second mcp 260 for my motors on my deck because I know they will support whatever ideas I have down the road.
