The OpenBuilds LEAD CNC Machine 1010 (40 x 40 in) Silver is designed to make your dreams a reality by enabling the creation of beautiful intricate 3D carvings, inlays, and amazing works of art. This versatile machine can help start a business, create unique gifts for friends and family, and allow users to become 21st-century digital carpenters. The LEAD CNC 3D Router is easy, fun, and intuitive to use, offering limitless possibilities.

The kit includes everything needed to assemble and wire the machine, with optional add-ons available to complete a fully functional CNC machine, such as a CNC Controller, Stepper Motors, Power Supply, and Router. The LEAD CNC Machine features a travel work area of X Axis 29" (730mm), Y-Axis 32" (810mm), and Z Axis 4" (~100mm), with a workable material height of 2" (~47mm) based on a 1/2" spoiler board stack. The machine is lead screw driven and has an accuracy of 0.001"~0.003" (0.05mm~0.10mm). The footprint measures 45" x 45" (1148mm x 1148mm) in length and width, and 21" (550mm) in height.

Included in the kit are C-Beam Linear Rail, 8mm Acme Lead Screw, Xlarge C-Beam Plate, Xtreme Solid V Wheel, Wiring Kit, and Assembly Hardware. Popular add-ons to complete the machine are the BlackBox X32 Motion Control, 24V Power Supply, NEMA 23 Stepper Motor, RoutER11, and Dust Shoe. Expansion kits, such as the High Z Mod for the LEAD 1010 and CNC Machine Laser, are available separately to enhance the machine's capabilities.

The OpenBuilds CAM and CONTROL software are included at no additional cost, providing everything needed to get started with making projects. Alternatively, users can purchase one of Vectric's CAD/CAM solutions for additional features. The LEAD CNC Machine can mill, cut, carve, and engrave materials such as cast acrylic, soft and hardwood, non-ferrous metals, MDF, HDPE, and foam.

Assembly, support, documentation, and 3D models are provided through easy-to-follow assembly videos, top-notch community support, open-source files, and documentation and examples.
