This release is unique in that it provides a variety of RAM densities and wireless connectivity options.
The external dimensions of this version adhere to a completely new mechanical standard, resulting in a reduced footprint of the module on its carrier board. This leads to a more compact form factor that is ideal for integration into various products. Unlike the Raspberry Pi 4's Micro SD card slot, the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) offers optional onboard eMMC storage of 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB.
This particular model of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 is equipped with a high-performance 64-bit quad-core processor, 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, and 32GB eMMC. It supports dual-display at resolutions up to 4K and hardware video decode at up to 4Kp60. It also features Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, dual camera interfaces, a PCIe Gen 2 x1 interface, and dual-band 2.4/5.0GHz wireless LAN and Bluetooth 5.0.
The dual-band 2.4/5.0GHz wireless LAN and Bluetooth 5.0 come with modular compliance certification, which facilitates the design of the board into end products with significantly reduced compliance testing. This feature enhances both cost-effectiveness and time efficiency. The device can operate with either the onboard antenna or an external antenna kit.
