- Zio Qwiic Air Pressure Sensor (BMP280) with high precision
- Measures barometric pressure and altitude
- Can also measure environmental temperature
- Compatible with I2C and SPI communication protocols
The Zio Qwiic Air Pressure Sensor BMP280 features a high precision Bosch BMP280 Barometric Pressure and Altitude Sensor. This sensor is not only capable of sensing pressure and altitude, but it can also measure environmental temperature, providing almost all of the data needed for atmospheric conditions.
The sensor is one of the best low cost solutions for taking precise environmental data. The barometric pressure has an absolute accuracy of 1.0 hPa on pressures ranging from 200 hPa to 11hPa. Temperature measurements are also accurate, with a 1.0 degrees C accuracy on temperatures between 40 and 85 degrees C.
As the altitude increases, the atmospheric pressure decreases, and due to the sensors high accuracy in taking pressure measurements, the altitude can also be calculated with a precision of 1 meter.
This great little sensor is a member of the Qwiic family, incorporating the Qwiic connector for easy wiring and access to the I2C interface. However, the sensor can also use SPI, and it is simple to switch to this interface by soldering the header pins provided.
