The Handheld Gaming System PiBoy DMG Kit is a contemporary interpretation of the classic GameBoy, functioning as a comprehensive handheld gaming system powered by Raspberry Pi4. This device elevates the gaming experience by enabling the emulation of N64, PSP, Dreamcast, and other games. The unique RPi faceplate design of the PiBoy DMG suggests compatibility with future Raspberry Pi models, and it is specifically designed to facilitate hacking, modding, and upgrades.

Unlike conventional retro game systems, the PiBoy DMG employs the DPI mode of the Raspberry Pi, which enables games to run at frame rates as high as 60fps without compromising the performance of the Raspberry Pi. The system is equipped with an accurate D-pad, an Analog Joystick, and an 8-button play with dedicated Select and Start buttons.

The PiBoy DMG effectively manages the Raspberry Pi4 with active cooling and safe shutdowns. Its built-in calibration and test menus simplify the setup process. The device comes partially assembled, requiring only the addition of a Raspberry Pi4. It is designed to be easily assembled and set up, even by complete beginners, with no soldering required.

The PiBoy DMG features a 3.5" LCD with a safe shutdown, a resolution of 640 x 480, a large capacity LiPo battery, an LCD DPI mode, built-in LiPo charging, a frame rate of up to 60fps, low battery protection, HDMI out, an 8-button play, an audio jack, dedicated left and right rear buttons, volume control, a dedicated start and select an amplified speaker, and brightness control.

The complete kit includes a partially assembled PiBoy DMG, a 4500 mAh LiPo Battery, a Micro USB Charger/Power Supply, two styles of shoulder buttons, RPi connector face plates, a cooling fan, and a screwdriver.
