The Pololu DRV8434A Stepper Motor Driver Carrier is a breakout board designed for Texas Instruments' DRV8434A micro stepping bipolar stepper motor driver. This device offers micro-stepping capabilities down to a 1/256 step and operates within a voltage range of 4.5 to 48 V. It is capable of delivering approximately 1.2 A continuously per phase without the need for a heat sink or forced airflow and can peak at 2 A.

The driver is equipped with integrated stall detection and employs a ripple control algorithm. This feature allows for precise regulation of the current level, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the motor. The module's pinout and interface bear a striking resemblance to the popular A4988 carriers, making it a suitable replacement for those boards in a variety of applications.
