Mint error codes list

Got this from the iRobot support department. Posting for others who may find it useful:

A blinking red light on the lights just below the buttons typically indicates a recoverable error such as getting stuck in a small space. If your robot has a blinking light, note how many times it blinks and follow the troubleshooting for that number below. The same number of blinks will be repeated with a pause in between to help you determine the number of blinks. The blinks will continue until issue is resolved.

Solid red light - to troubleshoot this issue.

2 blinks - Mint is stuck and cannot move. Remove Mint from the situation and place in a new location. If Mint continues to get stuck in the same spot, you may want to block off that area when Mint is cleaning.

3 blinks - Mint was unable to return to where it started. Check that the Cube has fresh C Batteries. Turn Cube back on and ensure it’s placed on a raised surface (not on floor), where the blue light on the Cube is pointing to an open area of the room, with at least 6 to 8 feet of open space in front of it. Mint should find its starting position in future cycles.

4 blinks - Mint’s Cube was moved during the cycle. Ensure that the Cube is stationary while Mint is cleaning and cannot get moved by pets or people.

5 blinks - Mint detected a cliff and could not move away from it. Move Mint to a new location and restart. Block off the area if it becomes a consistent problem. In some cases, the cloth could cause the error, so check the cloth application to be sure it’s properly attached.

6 blinks - Mint dropped a wheel over a cliff edge. Move Mint to a new location and restart. Block off the area if it becomes a consistent problem. In some cases, the cloth could cause the error, so check the cloth application to be sure it’s properly attached.

7 blinks - Charging error. Contact support to resolve this issue.

8 blinks - The Mint is unable to get out of sleep mode or communicate with the Cube. Contact Customer Care for further steps to resolve this issue

14 blinks - Mint detected that the motor was getting too hot. Turn Mint off and let cool down. If error persists contact Customer Care for further steps to resolve this issue

15 blinks - Mint is stuck in a small area and cannot find its way out. Remove Mint from the situation and place in a new location. If Mint continues to get stuck in the same spot, you may want to block off that area when Mint is cleaning.

Mint 4200-A, 4205-A and 5200 models can be used with multiple navigation cubes. The cubes must have different channel numbers, as noted by the number 1,2 or 4 found on the bottom of the cube.

Follow these instructions to set up the NorthStar2 two Cube system, as you prepare for a cleaning cycle.

  1. Insert 2 C Batteries into each Cube and snap the Battery door shut.

  2. Turn on each Cube by pressing the button on the back corner of each. A blue light will flash on the opposite corner indicating that they are turned on.

  3. Place the first Cube in the center of the area where you wish to start cleaning. Place the next Cube 20 to 25 feet away from the first. For best results place the Cubes where they have a clear view of the ceiling (not under shelves, lit fluorescent lights or ceiling fans) and away from Plasma/LCD TVs. Do not move the Cube during a cleaning cycle or put it on the floor.

  4. Place Mint about 6 feet in front of the Cube and press one of the cleaning modes (Sweep or Mop). The blinking light on the Cube should turn solid once the cleaning cycle begins. Mint will automatically clean from one Cube to another during its cycle.

Note: Mint Plus must be able to encounter the second cube while it is within range of the first cube. This means that if the second cube is hidden in another room and the Mint does not pass into the beginning of that room, it will not transition to the second cube.

No beeps, no other lights.
Nothing else responds.

With everything off, I plug in charging cord (new battery or with working old battery).
