Devasator DF Robotics

I'm hoping someone can shine some light on a frustrating issue I'm having with placment of componets in the very limited space inside the DF Robotics Devasator. Ideally I would like to use a Mega Arduino for this ambitous project. However the Mega a slight bit larger than the UNO. The L298 board, Arduino,breadboard and battery pack needs to fit into the very limited space. There is space for the Arduino at the front, however there would not be access to the USB port on the Arduino.

Servo recommendations

Can anyone recommend a strong servo compatible with Arduino? Ideally I'm looking for:

  • Speed
  • Torque
  • Compatible with existing libraries

I'll have a separate power supply, so the voltage isn't too important.

I'm a newb, so any thoughts/recommendations appreciated from those with experience.

PWM on High Current(amp) Actuators

I'm trying to move up into the category I originally got into robotics for in the first place: bigger buddies!

I have a Raspberry Pi I'd like to use to control some linear actuators, which are 12v and lift about 225lbs. I'm unaware of their amp usage: a search for similar rated ones said ~4-5A. They were purchased from an online auto parts place, so it's unlikely they'd know.

LCD display for Arduino how hard can it be ?

Yeah so i thought i would have a play with an LCD display.

How hard can it be I foolishly thought.

in my ignorance I assumed they were all pretty much the same and spoke the same language.

My problem came when I wanted to talk with it on the UNO.

All the libraries are different.

Not being a good programer I tend to womble a bit of code from here and there,

and go off and do the fun stuff of building it,

and eventually get it to do what I want.

This becomes a bit of problem when the sketches are

made for different hardware.

Jetduino: Robotics interface for NVIDIA Jetson TK1

I have been working on a new interface board for the Jetson TK1 embedded supercomputer called the Jetduino. It makes it very easy to build robots that can use the parallel processing capabilites of the NVIDIA GPU for vision and neural neural networks.


robot battery switching

Hi there,

I'm making an arduino robot with 2 identical lipo batteries.  The robot runs off one battery, and when that battery gets too low it will switch to the 2nd (fully charged) battery.  It will then make it's way to base and swap the flat battery with a fully charged one, so it can switch back when the 2nd battery is low.

Can you guys give me some guidance on the best way to go about building something like this.  I'm thinking of use a latching relay to switch between battery 1 and 2, and a voltage level detector to know when to switch.

Intel Edison Arduino Expansion ---> dymanixel motors

I was wondering what the best method to control DYNAMIXEL AX-18A motors from an Intel Edison with arduino expansion board would be, I have teh Arbotix-M, the UartSBee, the Edison with Arduino Expansion Board, and the Arduino Uno. I really want to make it so that I can use the Intel Edison w/ expansion board, and send that to the Arbotix-M. Can you help me?
