Do anybody here build robots on commission?

Hi there,

Forgive me if this is not the right forum to ask this question. But I am actually looking to have a reasonably simple robot created on commission. The robot essentially just needs to be able to play a drumstick at a given velocity, a given amount of times - with a given amount of seconds between each hit. The robot cannot make any noises while hitting, since it is intended for scientific recording purposes, so in essence it needs to be almost silent.

Uber cheap build idea, needing input...

I'm looking to build an uber-cheap robot arm, with the purpose of just sitting on my desk and picking up whatever i want it to... Probably stick with a basic control (independent forward, off, reverse switches on each motor) setup. What i'm trying to figure out is, I'm planning on using a standard 3 wire (forward, ground, reverse) style motor similar to that found in a cheap rc car, yet i can't find any places to buy them, except in the cars. any sugestions?

Advice on my next robotics project.

Hmm, I decided to come here on the off chance some one might be able to give me some advice.

I wouldn't say I'm an "absolute" beginner as I do have some experience with robotics, but its only been from kits, I haven't built and programmed something from scratch yet. Over the years I have collecteda great deal of items which I feel may be useful to create some form of robot, but its hard to know exactly where to start. Here are the details as follows:

Hello! I was wondering if anybody could help me determine compatibility issues :(

Dear Robot enthusiasts,

Hello all!  This is my first question on here so please feel free to critique my writing style.
