Humanoid concept Arduino

This concept to make a humanoid head, that speaks like a human, chooses phrases randomly. As (it) speaks , it moves head, eyeballs and eyebrows randomly in an emulation of a human. This can be useful for lonely people who cannot have a pet at home.

This is the basic idea..Later it is possible to develope it further to talk longer durations, and even tell short stories stored on an SD card.

Robot Servos/control board advice

Hi, I would like to do an investment and to buy some servos (10/20 units).

I don't have too much money to spend, so I'm looking for cheap servos with however enough torque to do some interesting robots (humanoid, arm, hexapod, etc).

Initially I found MG995/MG996R servos, then I found rds3115 robot servo.

HMOD-1 Update 1

I am working since a while on a new humanoid to continue my AI experiments. So far I have finished a conceptual 3-D-drawing, based on the parts I want to use. The 2WD base is from Makeblock, the upper body the Johnny 5 torso from Lynxmotion. I have cancled the base rotate turntable and changed the original 1 DOF head with ultrasonic sensor to a 2 DOF head with compound eye.

what battery would you recommend for powering 10 servos at 6v ?

I am currently working on a humanoid robot and am trying to ruduce the weight and increase the opperateing time I am useing 4 AA batterys to power the top half 12  servos and another 4AA batterys to power the bottom half 10 servos  22 servos in total . The AA batterys tend to go flat quite quickly and haveing 8 AA batterys make the robot heavyer also if i could recharge the battery it would be a great help. the servos are rated at 6v maximum and 4.5v minium what would you recommend ?

6 DOF robot hand finished

I finished the 6 DOF robot hand for my project Te no atama today. Here are some pictures. The thumb has two degrees of freedom. The primarily function of the hand is to display hand gestures. A 2 DOF wrist will be added. All servos have a metal gear and are digital.

Good Robot Controller?

Ok I am planning on building a "small" humanoid robot that can has computer vision and can do many tasks. I am planning on using a small onboard computer to do all the processing so that it can be autonomous and reduce the need to have another computer on for it to work. Anyway I am looking for a small, not expensive, and easy to use, some what powerfull small computer or single board computer that has usb ports,can run off a small battery and can run lunix. I am thankful for all suggestions.
