Do computers/robots actually "think"?

Hi everyone! I just wanted to have a discussion (for fun) about whether or not "true" AI (not necessarily general) exists in any form. Hopefully it'll get our brain juices flowing and we'll get cool ideas! To start, let me say that I am aware my idea is quite radical- ridiculous-sounding, even. But it's something I've been wondering about, regardless. What if AI (albeit not quite general) already exists? I have thought to myself, "Computers and robots already 'think,' but in a way unrecognizable by humans.

Talking about top service!

I own a Lego Mindstorms 8527 set and the display of my little computer finally gave up, which happens to be a known production error. I just had Lego on the telephone and although my computerbrick is about 10 years old!!! Lego is still replacing it without any charge. I can't remember getting such good service before!


Hats off to Lego. Too bad they, in my opinion, screwed up with the Lego EV3 set (A whole lot of processing power, but very little IO's) else I'd bought one right now! Maybe next Mindstorms set. ;)

Raspberry Pi Project

Hey guys,

I'm starting out a project in which I want to build a Raspberry Pi Self Driving Robot. The basic tasks the robot will perform are:

  • Lane tracking using RPi Camera and OpenCV3 + Python

Would the STM32F103C8T6 be enough for this project ?

I plan to build a robot that uses 4 encoders like these for each motor. Now I plan to use interrupts in order to calculate the RPM value based on the encoder signals. The code will also respond to the speed of the motor i.e. a sort of PID where the motor will spin slower when more torque is required.

I have alot of robotic projects,and now I'm trying to make the one remote to control them all.

I have a lasercut box with a raspberry pi 3 inside, with the original 7 inch touch display, there is also two 3 axis joysticks. The touch display will do everything that I can't do with the joysticks. I currently have a quadroped robot using Phoenix Code controlled with a PS2 joypad.
