The 36mm Diameter High Torque 12V Planetary Gear Motor, 480RPM is a compact and low-cost motor and planetary (epicyclic) gearbox combination. It has a speed and torque output that makes it ideal for use as a drive motor in robotics applications from 3 - 60kg. The motor is equipped with a long output shaft, 8mm in diameter, which enables easy mounting of wheels, pulleys and other accessories.
The motor can be operated at anywhere between 6 - 30V DC. Operating characteristics are given for operation at either 12V or 24V DC. This motor is smaller and higher speed, making it popular with robotics hobbyists and special effects designers. The long output shaft is intended to make mounting as easy as possible, though it is important to ensure that larger overhanging loads are independently supported.
Two copper tabs at the back of the body can be used to solder or crimp wires to. Alternatively, an option is available for 500mm long silicone insulated leads (1mm2) to be installed, ready for use. Please allow for one extra working day to process your order if this lead option is added, since these are soldered and insulated to order.
