The High Torque DC Worm Gear Motor - 12V, 28RPM is a combination of a DC motor and a worm gearbox. The first stage of the gearbox is a worm-and-wheel design, which means that once it is in position, the transmission cannot be back-driven. The gearbox is extremely sturdy, both on the outside and inside. It has larger-pitch gears compared to cheap gearboxes of a similar size. This allows it to transfer and support higher torque loads without the gear teeth breaking. The output shaft has a diameter of 8mm and is supported by dual ball bearings. This means that relatively large loads can be directly mounted to the output shaft.
This motor and gearbox combination is ideal for special effects, DIY projects, robotics, and automation. It provides a steady output speed and has a self-locking property, which means it resists being rotated once the motor is in position. The 8mm output shaft and output gear stage are much stronger than those of similar motors on the market. This means that larger radial loads can be supported without causing damage to the gearbox.
