Description

  • Motoron M3H550 Triple Motor Controller for Raspberry Pi (No Connectors or Standoffs)
  • Independently controls up to three DC motors
  • Compatible with motor supply voltages from 1.8 to 22 V
  • Provides continuous output currents of up to 1.7 A per motor
  • Communicates with Raspberry Pi using I²C, requiring only two GPIO pins

The Motoron M3H550 Triple Motor Controller for Raspberry Pi (No Connectors / Standoffs) is a sophisticated device designed to manage DC motors via a Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer) through an I²C interface. This module is capable of independently controlling up to three motors, and for projects requiring control over more motors, multiple Motoron boards can be stacked atop the same Raspberry Pi. The M3H550 is compatible with motor supply voltages ranging from 1.8 V to 22 V and can provide continuous output currents of up to 1.7 A per motor. This particular model is solely the motor controller, devoid of any connectors or mounting hardware.

The Motoron M3H550 add-on board simplifies the process of controlling up to three bidirectional, brushed DC motors with a compatible Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer). It accommodates motor supply voltages from 1.8 V to 22 V and can deliver continuous output currents up to 1.7 A per motor.

The M3H550 is engineered to stack on a Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer), akin to a HAT (Hardware Attached on Top), and multiple Motoron controllers can be stacked, enabling independent control of a multitude of motors. Unlike most motor drivers and motor driver expansion boards for Raspberry Pi, the Motoron does not necessitate any PWM outputs on the Raspberry Pi. Instead, the Raspberry Pi communicates with the Motoron using I²C, thus only two GPIO pins are required regardless of the number of Motorons connected.
