The Quad UART w/ 256 Byte TX/RX FIFO, 80 pin TQFP 119pc Bundle (SB16C1054) is a Universal Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter capable of transmitting and receiving data at speeds up to 5.3 Mbps. The 256 byte FIFOs reduce the CPU overhead, resulting in higher data rates and data throughput. Additionally, the SB16C1054 provides enhanced features, including registers for controlling interrupt signal logic and storing threshold levels of the receive FIFO to start/stop transmission during hardware and software flow control.
