The Yahboom LD300 Lidar Kit, Portable 360 Degree DTOF Laser Scanner Kit w/ 12m Range, Supports ROS & ROS2, Compatible w/ Raspberry Pi & Jetson is mainly composed of a laser ranging core, wireless transmission unit, wireless communication unit, angle measuring unit, motor driving unit and mechanical housing. The LD300 ranging core adopts DTOF (Direct Time of Flight) technology to measure 4500 times per second. When it operates, the LD300 emits an infrared laser forward, which is reflected to the single photon receiving unit after encountering the target object. This way, it obtains both the time of laser emission and reception, with the time of flight in between. With the speed of light, the distance can be calculated. After receiving the distance data, the LD300 combines it with the angle value obtained from the angle measurement unit to form the point cloud data, which is then transmitted to the external interface via wireless communication. Meanwhile, the external interface provides PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to allow the motor driving unit to drive the motor. After the external control unit gets the rotational speed, it will reach the specified speed through PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) algorithm closed loop control to ensure the LD300 works stably.
