Introduction

Thank you for your interest in partnering with RobotShop. The “stock” partnership option is where RobotShop purchases inventory from the supplier at a distributor / reseller / wholesaler cost and offers the product via various websites to the customer at the MSRP / MAP.

Stock - Normal

Normal stock is where RobotShop purchases the inventory and stocks it at one or more of our various warehouses, awaiting the customer order.

Stock - Special Order

“Special Order” is where RobotShop has listed and translated the product and made it available via our e-commerce website(s), but the product is listed as “Special Order”. RobotShop only purchases the product from the supplier once a customer has placed their order. Normally this is reserved for:

Expensive and/or heavy products
Products manufactured on demand
Products with a high level of customization

For “Special Order” products, it is also possible to have products drop shipped from the supplier directly to the customer.

Stock - Exclusivity

RobotShop is set up as a distributor and wholesaler and, depending on the exclusivity agreement, may be able to offer the following:

Wholesale to other distributors
In-house kitting (packaging multiple items as one)
In-house repairs
Other services possible

Stock Criteria

Normally requires proven sales either via RobotShop consignment or marketplace.
RobotShop can purchase from supplier such as manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors but not individuals.
In the event that you, the potential supplier, are a reseller or distributor, the original manufacturer must give the reseller permission to resell their products via RobotShop.

RobotShop Payment Options & Terms

RobotShop can provide payment via:

Net 30: Preferred payment method
Credit card: Preferred payment method (No fees to RobotShop)
PayPal: Preferred payment method (No fees to RobotShop)
Wire Transfer before products are received: Not accepted

Margin Considerations

RobotShop’s margin is calculated as follows:

Margin (%) = 100 * (MSRP - Cost) / MSRP

RobotShop’s margin takes the following into consideration:

Shipping from the Supplier: RobotShop’s main warehouse is located in Mirabel, just north of Montreal, Canada. If RobotShop covers shipping to our warehouse(s), the fees incurred for more expensive shipping (farther distances, heavier or larger objects) must be factored into the margin.
Shipping to customers: RobotShop covers shipping to the customer for orders beyond a certain amount in certain regions.
Product Size: Larger products take up more space in warehouses. When RobotShop stocks the products, this must be factored into the margin.
Product Listing & Translations: RobotShop takes the information provided by the supplier and optimizes it for SEO and multiple languages
Pre & post-sales support: In most cases, RobotShop handles pre-sales inquiries as well as low level technical support and troubleshooting
Merchandise returns & exchanges: In most cases, RobotShop covers shipping of a defective product back to RobotShop (return label)
Marketing: RobotShop will market your products with search engine marketing campaigns via Google, Facebook etc.

RobotShop selection team chooses which products to purchase from the supplier
RobotShop takes care of listing the product(s) and translations
RobotShop orders the selected products at distributor cost
Supplier ships the products to RobotShop
RobotShop takes care of shipping to customers, as well as exchanges and returns.

RobotShop takes care of pre-sales and post-sales support (including technical, though we may need to escalate to you)
