The M5Stack 8-Encoder Unit (STM32F030) is a set of 8 rotary encoders as one of the input units, the internal use of STM32 single-chip microcomputer as the acquisition and communication processor, and the host computer using an I2C communication interface, each rotary encoder corresponds to 1 RGB LED light, the encoder in addition to left and right rotation, but also radially pressed, in addition to a physical toggle switch and its corresponding RGB LED light, including 5V->3V3 DCDC circuit.

The unit can be used for the input of multi-channel relative control values, the corresponding RGB lamp can display different statuses, and the toggle switch can be used for the input of multi-channel switching quantities. It can be used as a multi-degree-of-freedom robot or music equalization application.

Nice encoders with some issues

This is a nice device that's relatively easy to use but it has some issue you should know about.
*1 step count, this device counts up by 2 but sometimes by 1 which makes precise setting impossible. To correct this its also not good to devide by 2 because of the single increments it does.
*2 mounting holes. The 2 mounting holes are on the same side which makes it harder to mount.
*3 the connector is on the side so if it's mounted on top of an enclosure the wire can not be I visibly run into the enclosure.
