The AndyMark 4in. HD Mecanum Wheel 3/8in. Hex, Left is a robust and versatile component designed for advanced robotic applications. This wheel is integral to creating a mecanum drive system, which allows for omnidirectional movement. The wheel's design features nine gray urethane rubber rollers with a durometer rating of 80A, each supported by a nylon core and a stationary brass tube. These rollers are sandwiched between two steel plates, which are riveted to the polycarbonate hubs, ensuring durability and strength.

The wheel's interior body is constructed from molded black polycarbonate, while the perimeter side plate is made of zinc-plated steel. This combination of materials allows the wheel to support a load capacity of up to 200 pounds per wheel, making it suitable for both drive and intake applications in robotics. The 3/8 inch hex bore is molded directly into the polycarbonate center body, providing a secure fit for hex shaft applications.

The unique configuration of the left and right wheels is crucial for the proper functioning of a mecanum drive system. When viewed from above, the wheels should form an 'X' pattern to enable the desired movement capabilities. This wheel is particularly effective in applications where objects need to be driven in one direction while simultaneously being pushed at an angle, such as in robotic intakes.
