The AndyMark EVO Slim 22.67:1 Ratio, 3.875in Shaft Length is a high-performance, lightweight gearbox designed to enhance the drive trains of competition robots. This single-speed gearbox is part of the EVO Slim line, which shares several components with the EVO Shifter, including weight-relieving features, robust steel gears, and durable aluminum plates. It is delivered in kit form, allowing for customization and assembly to accommodate up to three motors, although motors are not included in the package.
The gearbox utilizes a 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear, which is included and does not require a key. For those who prefer not to install the pinion themselves, motors with pre-installed pinions are available separately. The installation process for the pinion varies depending on the motor type, with specific procedures for both NEO and CIM motors. The NEO motor requires a 3-ton arbor press for installation due to the interference fit, while the CIM motor may require either a slip fit or a press fit, depending on manufacturing tolerances. In both cases, the application of red Loctite 271 is recommended to ensure a secure fit.
The EVO Slim gearbox is compatible with either the E4T Optical Encoder Kit or the SRX Mag Encoder, necessitating a 3D printed mount plate for installation. Future iterations will include pre-drilled holes in the motor plates to accommodate the Encoder Mount Pad. When using the SRX Mag Encoder, additional mounting hardware is required to ensure proper installation and functionality.
Note: Ensure proper safety measures are followed during the installation of pinions and encoders to prevent damage or injury.
The gearbox is shipped in kit form, not assembled, with hardware to accept 3 motors. Please note motors are not included with these gearboxes.
