The AndyMark Flyer Overdrive Gearbox, CIM/NEO Input, 2.89:1/1:2.89 is an innovative gearbox designed for competitive robotics, particularly in the context of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). This gearbox is distinguished by its dual functionality, allowing it to operate as both an overdrive and an underdrive system. This versatility is achieved through its unique design, which permits the output shaft to spin faster or slower than the input shaft, depending on the configuration chosen by the user. The gearbox features a 1/2 inch hex bore on both gears, enabling easy selection between the two available ratios without the need for additional purchases.
The gearbox includes a short 1/2 inch hex output shaft that extends approximately 2 inches from either face of the gearbox. Users have the option to replace this with any Toughbox output shaft, thanks to the standardized 1.125 inch outer diameter of both the front and rear bearings. This flexibility allows for the use of a pass-through shaft of any desired length, secured with collar clamps and supported at the end, making it suitable for applications such as roller intakes when combined with compatible wheels.
Mounting the gearbox is straightforward due to its "wings," which are designed to fit over any 1 inch wide extrusion, such as Peanut or Box Tube, facilitating easy attachment to a robot's frame. The gearbox supports three hardware input options: CIM/NEO, Falcon, and Sport Gearbox. The CIM/NEO and Falcon options are ideal for flywheel shooters, providing a well-supported output shaft optimized for absorbing shock loads. The Sport Gearbox option offers an additional stage of reduction and secure mounting, with the possibility of a reversed, offset shaft, making it suitable for mechanisms like climbers.
For those who prefer to customize their gear ratios, the gearbox is available without gears, allowing the use of any two 20DP, 1/2 inch wide, 1/2 inch hex bore gears totaling 70 teeth. This flexibility extends to using the gearbox shell as a mounting point for an extended shaft, enabling symmetrical setups.
If you are not satisfied for whatever reason with a Product you bought on the Site, it is possible to return it for refund within 30 days from the date you received it unless otherwise indicated in the Product listing. You must first advise the Vendor associated with your order in your account to obtain a return authorization (‘’RA’’) number before returning a Product. (‘’RA’’) numbers are valid for 30 days, within which time the returned Products should be received by the Vendor. No returns will be accepted without having previously obtained an (‘’RA’’) number. The Product must then be returned in its original packaging (in perfect condition for resale) with its receipt and your (‘’RA’’) number. Reimbursement will be denied for any Products which do not conform to the above mentioned conditions.
Build-it-yourself Robot Parts are not refundable once assembled. Robots & Kits requiring assembly or soldering are also not refundable once assembled, soldered or modified in any way. All sales of robotic software and apps are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged. Returns are not accepted on special orders and clearance items except when they are found defective, in which case the Product may be repaired or replaced at the Vendor’s discretion. 20% Restocking fees may apply if you are returning a large quantity of the same Product that was ordered specifically for you from the manufacturer.
Please note that all items will be reimbursed within 7 to 14 days of receiving the Product (shipping fees excluded). You must also cover the cost of returning the Product. Shipping fees will only be refunded if the return is a result of a shipping error on our part. Cleaning fees of USD 100 may also be charged if a domestic robot is returned and has not been properly cleaned.
