Description
Single motor controller - 10A 6V-24V
Analog, R/C, simplified serial and packetized serial interfaces (TTL)
Synchronous regenerative drive
Ultra-sonic switching frequency
Thermal and overcurrent protection
Lithium protection mode
The SyRen 10A 6V-24V Regenerative Motor Driver is one of the most versatile, efficient and easy to use motor drivers on the market. It is suitable for medium powered robots - up to 30lbs in combat or 100lbs for general purpose robotics. Out of the box, the SyRen 10 can supply a single brushed DC motor with up to 10A continuously. Peak currents of 15A are achievable for a few seconds. Overcurrent and thermal protection means you'll never have to worry about killing the driver with accidental stalls or by hooking up too big a motor.
With just one SyRen driver you can control a motor with: analog voltage, radio control, serial and packetized serial. You can build many different robots of increasing complexity for years to come with a SyRen. Owning two SyRens allows you to build differential drive (tank style) robots because they can work in tandem with built in mixing. The operating mode is set with the onboard DIP switches so there are no jumpers to lose. The SyRen features screw terminal connectors - making it possible for you to build a robot without even soldering.
SyRen is the first synchronous regenerative motor driver in its class. The regenerative topology means that your batteries get recharged whenever you command your robot to slow down or reverse. SyRen also allows you to make very fast stops and reverses - giving your robot a quick and nimble edge.
SyRen has a built in 5V BEC that can provide power to a microcontroller or R/C receiver. The lithium cutoff mode allows SyRen to operate safely with lithium ion and lithium polymer battery packs - the highest energy density batteries available. SyRen's transistors are switched at ultrasonic speeds (32kHz), meaning no one will be able to hear your robot ninja army approaching.
Applications:
Combat robots up to 30lb
Normal and hobby robots up to 100lb
Differential drive robots
Electric vehicles, ride-on toys, scooters
Easy speed/direction control for pumps, conveyors, automation and any application that uses a brushed DC motor
This is the second one of these I have purchased - great product!
I am using these for Dome rotation control on both of my Astromechs - R2 & Chopper, works flawlessly

Awesome
This little motor driver is being used in my life-sized R2-D2 Project. It worked great right out of the box!

A must for droid builders!
The Syren 10 has long been a staple of droid builders, in particular in controlling dome (or head) movements. The Syren is easy to control using a serial pin from an Arduino, or remote control from traditional RC. Just set the dip switches to your requirement (arduino just needs 1 and 2 down, the rest up) and off you go. It also has a handy 5v output which I use for powering my mp3 trigger player. Very easy to use and support is second to none.

Really good
I have used in model train G scale, the motor make no noise, with other cheaper one it was terrible noisy. Operation are really smooth. I'm very happy with it, I will purchase more of them for sure.
If you are not satisfied for whatever reason with a Product you bought on the Site, it is possible to return it for refund within 30 days from the date you received it unless otherwise indicated in the Product listing. The Product must then be returned in its original packaging (in perfect condition for resale) with its receipt and your (‘’RA’’) number. Reimbursement will be denied for any Products which do not conform to the above mentioned conditions.
Build-it-yourself Robot Parts are not refundable once assembled. Robots & Kits requiring assembly or soldering are also not refundable once assembled, soldered or modified in any way. All sales of robotic software and apps are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged. Returns are not accepted on special orders and clearance items except when they are found defective, in which case the Product may be repaired or replaced at the Vendor’s discretion. 20% Restocking fees may apply if you are returning a large quantity of the same Product that was ordered specifically for you from the manufacturer.
Please note that all items will be reimbursed within 7 to 14 days of receiving the Product (shipping fees excluded). You must also cover the cost of returning the Product. Shipping fees will only be refunded if the return is a result of a shipping error on our part. Cleaning fees of USD 100 may also be charged if a domestic robot is returned and has not been properly cleaned.
