The Dragino Photosynthetically Available Radiation sensor is engineered to measure the photosynthetically active radiation of natural light within the wavelength range of 400 to 700 nanometers. This device employs precision optical detectors and an optical filter specifically designed for this spectrum. When exposed to natural light, the sensor generates a voltage signal that is directly proportional to the intensity of the incident radiation. The luminous flux density measured by the sensor is also proportional to the cosine of the direct angle of the incident light.

This sensor is an integral component of the Dragino Weather Station solution. It is designed to be connected to the WSC1-L main processor via an RS485 interface. Once connected, the WSC1-L processor can detect and transmit the photosynthetically available radiation data to an IoT server using the wireless LoRaWAN protocol.

The sensor is particularly suited for applications in weather stations, where accurate measurement of photosynthetically active radiation is crucial. It operates efficiently within a wide temperature range and varying humidity levels, ensuring reliable performance in diverse environmental conditions.
