Useful addition to your Starter or Ranger robots

Our mBot already has the facility to use an IR remote and we bought it for our Starter Robot. It works fine although we had to update the firmware and reset the default program as Starter in the connect menu of Makeblock 3. Be aware that if you have two robots with an IR remote then the two remotes will clash. I haven't yet found if it is possible to get them reprogrammed to avoid this. I doubt if it is possible? On the Starter robot the control is for the motors only out of the box. There isn't much help to program the IR receiver and the remote control buttons. All the Mblock software 3 board versions state it only works in Arduino mode. Not found out how to do this as yet but the tablet/phone apps or PC are more useful controllers anyway so it probably is best if you want to convert a bluetooth version of the Starter Robot to IR for a younger operator?
