The Maxbotix XL-MaxSonar-WRCA1 Weather Resistant Ultrasonic Range Finder is the most popular outdoor ultrasonic rangefinders in an extra-compact housing. The weather resistant XL-MaxSonar-WRC is a rugged ultrasonic sensor component module. This outdoor sensor provides very short to long distance detection and ranging in a compact, robust PVC housing. The ultrasonic sensor meets the IP67 water intrusion standard and matches standard electrical 3/4-inch PVC pipe fittings.

Works as expected

Precisions and beaver as ultrasonic for sensor in general. Measurements against floating water influence precision a lot, therefore it can not be use in this particular environment.

Easy to use. Quite accurate. Very sensitive so best to take a series of readings and use median or averaging rather than spot readings.
