The Motoron M2h18v18 Dual High-Power Motor Controller for Raspberry Pi (Connectors Soldered) is a sophisticated device designed to manage DC motors via a Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer) through an I²C interface. It is capable of supporting motor supply voltages ranging from 6.5 V to 30 V and delivering continuous output currents of up to 18 A for each motor. This particular model comes with aluminum standoffs and features soldered stackable headers and terminal blocks.
The design of the M2H controllers allows them to be stacked on top of a Raspberry Pi, akin to a HAT (Hardware Attached on Top). This unique design enables the stacking of multiple controllers on top of each other, thereby facilitating the independent control of numerous motors. The Raspberry Pi communicates with the Motoron via I²C, requiring only two GPIO pins, irrespective of the number of Motorons connected.
The M2H18v18 controller is capable of supporting motor supply voltages from 6.5 V to 30 V and delivering continuous output currents of up to 18 A per motor. This controller can be identified from other M2H controllers by its smaller discrete MOSFETs and the number 150 on the tall silver electrolytic capacitors.
The 5mm blue terminal blocks are rated for up to 16 A, hence for higher-current applications, it is advisable to opt for an unsoldered version and solder thick wires directly to the board.
The controller is equipped with two motor control channels for independent control of up to two bidirectional brushed DC motors, reverse-voltage protection on the motor power supply, and a logic voltage range of 3.0 V to 5 V. It features a control interface: I²C clock speed of up to 400 kHz, configurable motion parameters, current sensing, configurable hardware current limiting, a command timeout feature, configurable automatic error response, motor power supply (VIN) voltage measurement, two status LEDs, and motor direction indicator LEDs. It is also accompanied by a Motoron Python library for easy use with Python or MicroPython and a comprehensive user’s guide.
Important Note: The M2H18v18 controller's absolute maximum voltage is not intended for use with 24 V batteries. For higher-current applications, it is recommended to use an unsoldered version and solder thick wires directly to the board.

This version comes with soldered stackable headers and terminal blocks. It includes a set of four M2.5 standoffs (11 mm length), screws, and nuts that can be used to secure the board at the appropriate height.
If you are not satisfied for whatever reason with a Product you bought on the Site, it is possible to return it for refund within 30 days from the date you received it unless otherwise indicated in the Product listing. You must first advise the Vendor associated with your order in your account to obtain a return authorization (‘’RA’’) number before returning a Product. (‘’RA’’) numbers are valid for 30 days, within which time the returned Products should be received by the Vendor. No returns will be accepted without having previously obtained an (‘’RA’’) number. The Product must then be returned in its original packaging (in perfect condition for resale) with its receipt and your (‘’RA’’) number. Reimbursement will be denied for any Products which do not conform to the above mentioned conditions.
Build-it-yourself Robot Parts are not refundable once assembled. Robots & Kits requiring assembly or soldering are also not refundable once assembled, soldered or modified in any way. All sales of robotic software and apps are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged. Returns are not accepted on special orders and clearance items except when they are found defective, in which case the Product may be repaired or replaced at the Vendor’s discretion. 20% Restocking fees may apply if you are returning a large quantity of the same Product that was ordered specifically for you from the manufacturer.
Please note that all items will be reimbursed within 7 to 14 days of receiving the Product (shipping fees excluded). You must also cover the cost of returning the Product. Shipping fees will only be refunded if the return is a result of a shipping error on our part. Cleaning fees of USD 100 may also be charged if a domestic robot is returned and has not been properly cleaned.
