The Motoron M3S550 Triple Motor Controller Shield for Arduino (Connectors Soldered) is a sophisticated device designed to facilitate the control of DC motors via an Arduino or Arduino-compatible board through an I²C interface. This module is capable of independently managing up to three motors. For projects requiring control over a larger number of motors, multiple shields can be stacked atop the same Arduino.

The M3S550 is compatible with motor supply voltages ranging from 1.8 V to 22 V and can deliver continuous output currents of up to 1.7 A per motor. This particular model comes with pre-soldered stackable headers and terminal blocks.

The Motoron M3S550 shield is adept at controlling up to three bidirectional, brushed DC motors with an Arduino or a compatible board. The device does not necessitate any PWM outputs or timers on the Arduino. Instead, communication between the Arduino and the Motoron is facilitated using I²C, requiring only two I/O lines, irrespective of the number of Motorons connected.

This version of the Motoron M3S550 comes with soldered stackable headers and terminal blocks. It boasts three motor control channels that allow for independent control of up to three bidirectional brushed DC motors per Motoron. The device has a broad motor supply voltage range of 1.8 V to 22 V and a maximum output current per motor of 1.7 A continuous. It also features reverse-voltage protection on the motor power supply and is compatible with 3 V and 5 V I²C busses. The control interface is an I²C clock speed of up to 400 kHz. Additionally, it has configurable motion parameters and a command timeout feature that halts motors if the Arduino ceases to function. It also includes two status LEDs and motor direction indicator LEDs.

Please note that the Motoron M3S550 is also available with different options for the through-hole connectors. For applications using a Raspberry Pi, the Motoron M3H550 is recommended.
