Description
Measures a static or dynamic force applied to the sensing pad
Supply voltage range: 4.5V to 5.25V
Accuracy: +/- 5% of full scale
RoHS compliant
The Phidgets FlexiForce Adapter makes it easy to interface a Tekscan FlexiForce Force Sensor to your PC. Just use the cable included with the adapter. The Phidgets even gives you a round plastic disc for the sensing pad. The FlexiForce sensor is an ultra-thin and flexible printed circuit, which can be easily integrated into most applications. With its paper-thin construction, flexibility and force measurement ability, the FlexiForce force sensor can measure force between almost any two surfaces and is durable enough to stand up to most environments.
FlexiForce has better force sensing properties, linearity, hysteresis, drift, and temperature sensitivity than any other thin-film force sensors. The "active sensing area" is a 0.375" diameter circle at the end of the sensor. Before using your FlexiForce Sensor, it is recommended that you read the Flexiforce FAQs and User Manual paying special attention to Calibration and Conditioning.

Two round plastic discs for the FlexiForce Sensor sensing pad
I bought this board to provide an off-the-shelf way to read in the load from the A401 flexiforce Sensor... the big round one rated for 1-25lbs. Well the sensor is capable of doing other force ranges including 0-1lb which is what I needed. Unfortunately this board is not able to adjust the feedback resistance so it only works for the 0-25lb range with the A401 sensor. I asked Robotshop via their support email for a circuit diagram of the board and they pointed me incorrectly to a single op-amp circuit on the Tekscan/flexiforce website. The actual circuit on the board is a single supply instrumentation amplifier circuit using 2 op-amps and it's tuned quite well for 0-25lbs. I also liked the cables and simple breakout connections for this board. Very competitively priced compared to purchasing the board offered by Tekscan themselves.

The Product must then be returned in its original packaging (in perfect condition for resale) with its receipt and your (‘’RA’’) number. Reimbursement will be denied for any Products which do not conform to the above mentioned conditions.
Build-it-yourself Robot Parts are not refundable once assembled. Robots & Kits requiring assembly or soldering are also not refundable once assembled, soldered or modified in any way. All sales of robotic software and apps are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged. Returns are not accepted on special orders and clearance items except when they are found defective, in which case the Product may be repaired or replaced at the Vendor’s discretion. 20% Restocking fees may apply if you are returning a large quantity of the same Product that was ordered specifically for you from the manufacturer.
Please note that all items will be reimbursed within 7 to 14 days of receiving the Product (shipping fees excluded). You must also cover the cost of returning the Product. Shipping fees will only be refunded if the return is a result of a shipping error on our part. Cleaning fees of USD 100 may also be charged if a domestic robot is returned and has not been properly cleaned.
