The Pimoroni Inky Impression 5.7 inch Display for Raspberry Pi (7 Colour Paper HAT) is a large, vibrant, 5.7-inch electronic paper display with a resolution of 600 x 448 pixels. This display is significantly larger than the Inky wHAT model, offering ample screen space for both text and graphics.
The electronic paper display is designed to consume low power, and it remains clear and readable even under bright sunlight. The image on the display will continue to be visible even when the power is off.
A unique feature of the Inky series is the inclusion of four tactile buttons, which allow for control of the screen content without the need for additional hardware. These buttons are designed to be side-pressed, making them easily accessible even when the display is wall-mounted.
This model offers seven distinct colors, making it an excellent choice for displaying graphics, drawings, or art. It has been observed that pixel art, comic panels, and retro video game art are particularly well-suited to this display.
The size and capabilities of this display make it ideal for a variety of applications. It can be used to display detailed graphs and charts from weather stations and sensors, serve as an e-ink reader, or function as a digital dashboard in a kitchen, displaying calendar information and reminders.
